Lifestyle Photos & Holiday Photo Cards :: Christmas in July

I love having family photos taken, hanging them on the walls, framing them for my desk and sharing them with friends and relatives on holiday photo cards.  Maybe it’s because I grew up doing pageants and that meant a lot of photo shoots?  Maybe it’s because my kids are so stinking cute?  Either way, I love photos.  For our most recent pictures we decided on a ‘lifestyle shoot’ which is a more relaxed session typically done inside your home.  We were all dressed in everyday clothes (to be fair, normally when I’m lounging around the house I’m in sweats.  I actually put on jeans for the pics) and did things we usually do.  We read books, we played peek-a-boo, we snuggled on the couch.  I love the intimate moments our photographer, Deborah from Zen Photography by Deborah, caught of our family.  I knew as soon as I saw them they were going to make great holiday photo cards.  (Yep, I’m thinking about holiday cards in July).

I was recently introduced to a company called Basic Invite and, you guys, they are going to make ordering your Christmas cards online a breeze!  Everything on their site is customize-able.  Once you choose a design you can change the color of EACH element on the card (to over 180 color options!) so it’s exactly how you want it.  By the way color lovers: there’s 40 choices for envelope colors!

Have you ever been disappointed by how your cards or invitations looked when they arrived?  Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allow customers to order a printed sample of their actual card!  So you can see how it looks as well as the paper quality before you place your final order.

Sending Christmas cards is one of my favorite holiday traditions.  But, I’ll admit sometimes it feels like a daunting task collecting addresses from friends and family.  Maybe you’ve started getting away from sending cards because the thought of addressing all those envelopes is just too much?  I totally get it, but Basic Invite has technology that is a GAME CHANGER when it comes to saving busy moms time.  It’s an address capturing service, you share the link with family and friends on social media, they input their address, it’s all stored in your online account, then you just select the recipients during the design process.  Basic Invite includes recipient address printing at no additional cost on all Christmas card orders.  Sign. Me. Up.

So, gather up your favorite photos and get ready to have this holiday to-do crossed off your list before you even finish back to school shopping!

We are so excited to be able to offer our readers a discount code as part of Basic Invite’s Christmas in July sale!  Use code: holi30 at checkout to save 30%.
